Description:
A great jug from the most famous pottery on Tyneside. Coloured in the usual pallete with green dashes - yellow slashes and an ochre trim making a wonderful contrast to the strong pink lustre. Featuring a transfer of the iconic bridge over the river Wear (view 23) and a verso relating to friendship.
Circa 1840-50
Approx - 6.75 inches (170mm) tall.
In good condition with minor paint losses and nibbles commensurate with age. The spout has a charming, historic rivet repair which adds to the charm of this wonderful jug.
