Description:

The Reading Maid, attributed to the leading Staffordshire potter Obadiah Sherratt. Finely modelled sitting in front of bocage on a grassy mound with floral sprigs. Extremely well decorated 'in the round' with attention paid to the dress and shoes, this is an outstanding figure.

Circa 1820

Approx - 10.5 inches (270mm) tall.

In very good, original condition throughout, save firing crack to right shoulder and rear of tree stump with paint loss to top of base.
