Description:

A rare, London, probably Lambeth, polychrome Delft plate. Painted in brown, green and yellow with a central portrait medallion initialled AR within a wide, decorated and lined border. A naive, charming depiction of the crowned queen surrounded by striking 'Star & Garter' decoration.

 

Circa 1702

 

Approx - 9 inches (225mm) dia.

 

In very good,  condition save glaze loss to rim, some chips restored, and manufacturing defect to glaze.
