A wonderful creamware jug featuring two outstanding transfers. On one side a recruiting sergeant plying drink to dauntless youths above a verse relating to recruiting. On the reverse an impressive ship, flying the Stars & Stripes, in full sail above the wording - Scudding before the wind. Stunning.

Circa 1790

Approx - 7 inches (180mm) tall.
